I had a warm welcoming feeling today at Starbucks that just made my morning. Life has it's up's and downs, good feeling and bad. We all struggle with feeing down, feeling up, energetic, lazy, bored, excited, etc...
Every morning I read affirmations from The Secret and today's was a lengthly one regarding when you feel the universe working with you, you have this feeling, like a force that everything works in your favor. Sort of like all green lights driving through a busy city.
I didn't put much into the affirmation except that I wanted that force to be with me and have a great day. The day started out great too with me waking early to sunshine and a crisp cool morning, even got on the road early.
Traffic was grood too with no delays, just smooth sailing. So much so, I had time to stop and get breakfast. Stopped at a local bagel shop that was full of people and I debated going in but went in anyway.
The line moved quickly and if it wasn't for me running into a girl from school (which was cool), I would of been in and out in less then 5mins which was a surprise if you would have seen the line.
Next was a trip to Starbucks which really made my morning. Not only was the store full of nicely dressed professional women and college girls, everyone was smiling, saying hello, and just and in good moods, the workers were exceptionally giddy (probably from all the coffee).
I stop there in the mornings when I have time and the money so I'm sort of a regular. I recongnized one worker and asked for extra mocha in my favorite drink and she said of course and we'll make it extra special for you today.
I reached for my wallet knowing what the normal price is and pulled out the money only to be told a different price which was less then I normally pay. That was cool that I didn't get charged for the extra mocha I asked for :0).
Then the girl who made my drink called me by name and said my drink was ready. If you go to Starbucks you know they usually ask for your name so that is not a surprise. The surprise and the cool thing that made this time different is they didn't ask for my name. Not only that, as I say I go there here and there I would not expect them to remember me but the girl did. Not only did she remember my name but as she handed me my drink she said, "I haven't seen you in awhile, how are you?" I felt good to be remembered and bad for not ever asking her name or remembeing her.
The point is, Starbucks is more than just coffee in my opinion. It is a culture of good feelings and good people. The trip there made my morning as the customers were all in positive moods, the environment warm, and the workers extra friendly and caring which made me feel great to have stopped.
The coffee was EXCELLENT too!
